19 Year Old - Spanish Rum
SINGLE CASK, AGED RUM - SPANISH
Crafted by Andalusian distillers at Azucarera del Guadalfeo—Spain’s last traditional sugarcane refinery—this rare Spanish rum is a remarkable aged spirit, bearing the imprint of time, terroir, and craftsmanship.
Distilled in the south of Spain and matured for approx. 15 years at origin in Ex Bourbon American oak casks in the temperate, Mediterranean climate of Barcelona, the rum has developed exceptional depth and finesse.
The slow coastal ageing allows for a gentler interaction with the wood, resulting in a complex, well-integrated profile that balances vibrant spirit character with refined maturity. The final 4 years of additional rest and maturation has been done in the UK where the casks no reside, this helps contribute to its smooth, contemplative finish.
Organoleptic Evaluation:
On the Nose: Deep and layered, with rich aromas of dark molasses, dried figs, pipe tobacco, and antique wood. Hints of roasted coffee, leather, and orange peel linger in the background.
On the Palate: Full-bodied and elegant. Notes of spiced fruitcake, toasted walnut, and burnt sugar unfold alongside hints of black tea, cedar, and a trace of balsamic richness. The mouthfeel is velvety, with an understated dryness that enhances its maturity.
Finish: Long, warming, and contemplative. Oak tannins, cocoa nibs, and molasses return with a subtle saline note that nods to the rum’s Mediterranean ageing environment.
Last ABV (08/05/25) approx. 59%vol - this may vary from cask to cask.
A sophisticated and uncommon Spanish rum, this 19-year-old expression is best enjoyed neat, allowing its nuanced character and sense of place to fully reveal themselves.
Please note that specific tasting notes may vary slightly depending on the cask selection and individual palate.
