7 Year Old - Guyanese Rum

This 7 Year Old, Cask Aged, Guyanese Rum was produced at the world renowned Diamond Distillery based on the Demerara River where they produce many different styles of rums. This particular rum marque was produced on the Diamond 1 & 2 Continuous metal Coffee still, 2 stainless steel column stills. 

This light and approachable rum, presenting as a Caribbean style rum, was distilled in August 2017 and imported as a fresh distillate to the UK later in 2017 where it was filled into American oak barrels for further maturation. This is 100% continentally aged, specifically bonded and aged in the UK.

Guyanese rums are considered some of the best in the world, thanks to their unique and meticulous production processes which can generally use the same style of wash/fermentation with the stills and process that change, with a wide spectrum of differences between the stills. These are traditionally distilled rums with notable flavour profiles rooted in history and heritage.

Aged Guyanese rums are renowned for their complex richness in flavour profile. They typically exhibit a seamless blend of charred oak flavours and tannins with sweet notes of caramel offering an elevated tasting experience for discerning rum drinkers.

Organoleptic Evaluation 

On The Nose:  Layered notes of vanilla, oak, creamy chocolate, hints of baking spice.

On the Palate:  creamy coconut, caramel, sea water, The finish is long with hints of Eucalyptus freshness, charred oak and cinnamon

The Finish: Smooth and a little dry. The finish is long with hints of Eucalyptus freshness, charred oak and cinnamon.
