25 Year Old - Jamaican Rum

SINGLE CASK, AGED RUM - JAMAICA

This rum has been produced at Clarendon Distillery located in the Clarendon parish in Jamaica. Rum production at this distillery has records going as far back as 1794 and have a long standing history of creating Jamaican rums known globally.

This rum marque, Monymusk MPG, has been distilled in large copper pot stills in Jamaica and is one of the lighter variations of pot still productions used by the distillery. This rum has an average ester count of approx. 110-125 or 90-125 esters per g/hL and is categorised as a "Jamaica Common Clean" rum and constitutes a Light pot still run.

This rum marque has employed light fermentations that exclude the use of dunder. It's intricate flavor profile, marked by a blend of tropical fruits, oak, and subtle spices, offers a sophisticated sipping experience and is very typical of a Jamaican style rum with funky flavours that integrate with the oak extractives very well over long periods of maturation.

This rum was distilled in July 2000 and matured in American Oak for 10 years in Jamaica, then imported to the UK in 2010 and refilled into American Oak for further maturation. The casks currently lay in bond in the UK.

An ideal selection for connoisseurs seeking a complex and refined expression of Jamaican rum.

Organoleptic Evaluation

On The Nose: the aroma is a harmonious blend of ripe tropical fruits, including pineapple, guava, and pink grapefruit, intertwined with subtle hints of honey and a touch of varnish. As the rum opens up, notes of mint and walnut skin emerge, adding layers of complexity

On the Palate: On the palate, the rum presents a creamy texture with a slight bite, delivering flavours of orange oil, nutty banana bread, and apricot. The influence of the oak cask becomes more pronounced over time, introducing flavors of cocoa, peanuts, and spices, with a faint herbal note reminiscent of thyme

The Finish: The finish is long and elegant, balancing between the lingering tropical fruit notes and a refreshing minty undertone. The oak influence provides a structured backbone, ensuring a satisfying conclusion to the tasting experience.

Please note that specific tasting notes may vary slightly depending on the cask selection and individual palate.
